Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by publishing house.
Best-selling writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.
A representative for the firm stated: "Following a thorough review, and following the appointment of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the conclusion was made after an inquiry regarding reports of questionable actions directed at female individuals.
The company has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, noting: "We do not comment on internal matters."
A Highly Successful Publishing History
Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, having sold more than 60 million copies internationally in dozens of tongues.
His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.
Some of his books, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have found new life as television films.
He has published in excess of 40 works in total, which features a festive story called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.
Television and Literature
His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE in 2017 for his services to charity and the arts.
This move occurs subsequent to the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
